»I CAN'T BLOG OKAY
Thursday 26 July 2012

OH MY GOD I CAN'T BLOG. MY MIND IS SCATTERED OVER A HUNDRED DIFFERENT SUBJECTS AND YOU'RE JUDGING ME I CAN FEEL IT. GAAHHHHH

SHORT SUMMARY OF MY WEEK:

Monday was terrible for reasons that I cannot name at the moment because short-term memory.

Tuesday was spent in anticipation of Limelight and I really don't know how else to put it but I was kinda disappointed. It didn't seem like ONE band playing. It seemed more like different people trying to play together. And quite a few of the soloists looked really nervous, which is really alright but makes me question how many times they've rehearsed since they looked so unsure. It was good, but it wasn't the spectacular standard that I'm used to the band putting forth.

Wednesday was quite bland as days go and I'd talk about the whole Ms Chan thing (what is up with people with this damn surname?) but that relates more to WY so I'm not gonna touch it lest she decides to blog about it. Ended up going for dinner with Mick and Reema and hoboing on some, uh, unique seats. I would've joined in the awkward when we saw them but I was too damn stoned from my cold to give a shit.

Today I didn't go to school and I spent the whole day trying to come up with ways to write this in an entertaining way but failed to so screw it.

I shall leave you guys with one of my favorite GIFs as a reward for reading through this terribly dry post. A POLE-DANCING CHICKEN :D

»King of the World
Wednesday 18 July 2012

David is King of the World.
  David is Happy.
He has everything one could ask for. He has experienced the finest luxuries and met the most beautiful women alive. He has seen the greatest wonders the world has to offer and has a mind well-developed to appreciate it. Yet David doesn't feel as happy as a King should.
David has seen the contentment on an elderly couples' face as they stroll through the sun, hand in hand as if they were to live forever. He has heard the carefree joy in children's laughter when they play, cheeky balls of energy weaving through obstacles in a game of tag.
Inwardly, he tells himself he is much better off than them. They, after all, are not Kings of the World. They have not lived as much as he. He is King, and they are Not.

They are Not. And he Is.

He whispers to himself as he falls off into the land of dreams.

  Falling.
                  Falling.
                                   Falling.

Falling into a pit of lies and self-deceit. Because David isn't happy but he'd be worse off acknowledging the fact. As a wise man once said,

Ignorance is Bliss.

This was extremely self-indulgent and I honestly have no idea where the fuck I was going with it but HEY, at least I'm not writing Mary-Sues. Amirite? IN MY DEFENCE THOUGH, I WAS LISTENING TO THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XWIx8KEnVo&feature=related

»Let's get the small things out of the way first...
Sunday 15 July 2012

The TA, it seems, can't fix a problem without causing a few more. To put a really, really long story short, I dropped my computer and damaged my hard drive, so I had to send my TPC to the TA to replace it. Which meant I lost all my data. That was expected.
What I didn't expect was THAT THEY'D STRIP MY ADMIN RIGHTS AND LOSE MY FUCKING STYLUS FOR ME THE FUCKERS.
I MEAN COME ON, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? I CAN'T EVEN DOWNLOAD MSN. I REQUIRE MSN TO COMMUNICATE BECAUSE NOBODY REPLIES MY TEXTS DAMN IT. YOU CNA IGNORE A BEEP BUT YOU CAN'T IGNORE A BLINKING ICON ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR TASKBAR ASDFGHJKL;' I NEED MY STYLUS TO DO SHIT. LIKE, IMPORTANT SHIT. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PRETEND TO DO NOTES ON MY EXAM SCRIPTS NOW?

So yes. I'm pissed. Putting that aside, almost everything went smoothly. With the exception of eh, the debate prep, crezawards, the debate and the sleepover. Those are the only exceptions, I swear.

1) Debate prep.
I'm going to be entirely honest here. I was pretty pissed off with a lot of people this week. It'd be easier to list the people I didn't get irritated at than the people I did. The list goes a little like this:
Toward everyone else, there was at least one moment where I went all
At least internally. I'm not gonna mention the specific names. Just...yea. Shash and Nicole, I love you guys to death, really. You worked so hard and did so much research and hugs forever. I will buy you food. Or something. Something nice. Debate prep was... It was kinda sucky. Yet somehow, some part of me wouldn't mind going through it again. It was an experience and I guess we all learnt from it. A lot of stuff happened like the motion changing halfway through prep (WTF) and people not contributing *cough cough*.

2) Sleepover.
So Reema came over on Thursday to sleepover so that we could do more work. This did not work out for several reasons. Firstly, we did not get any quality sleep. At all. We ended up feeling even worse in the morning than the night before. This leads me to confirm my hypothesis that even with a friend, mornings suck.

Add to that the fact that my mom was kinda cranky and got pissed at Reema not greeting her and stuff, it was a terrible plan. It also left my room in a major mess, which certainly didn't help my mom's impression of her. Apparently rushing to get to school/meet up with Naomi for CrezAwards is not a valid reason for mess.

3) CrezAwards
It was fun and all. There's no denying that. It's just that there were a lot of screw-ups and stuff happened and I'd rather save that for my personal blog. The performances weren't as bad as I thought they'd turn out so that's one good thing :D It was rather surprising that a sec 1 won the dance category though and WY was pretty pissed when I told her Crystal got 2nd in the vocal category. Yep. Short and sweet.

4) MGS debate.
This was what prompted me to write this whole post in the first place. So many things went wrong I can't even.

Tricia couldn't come because her god-mother got sent to the hospital. Mr M couldn't come until 3 because he was judging for the lit festival. Ms Khan (we still don't know who the heck this woman is BTW) couldn't come because she was tired and worn out BECAUSE HER MARRIAGE WAS THE NEXT DAY. We were the only team there dressed like hobos without proper blazers and shit ties and looked like we crawled out of a dump. Everyone else was just like
And they looked all professional and shit and had coaches and teachers and people supporting them and we were just there like.

We went up against ACS Barker and won. By half a mark. Or 1 mark. I have no idea but the point is that it was kinda sad. Or really good since we ARE a pretty new team with no coach and half the team has little to no debate experience. Then we went up against SCGS and got trashed. Then lunch, in which Kash just sat there with Reema and giggled over texts. Nicole and Shash were talking about sec 1 stuff and I forever-aloned in the side with my food and phone. Which is usually what happens so /shrugs/.
Next round we went up against River Valley and I think I kinda screwed up by being too aggressive and un-lady-like and yea. Sorry guys.
We don't know whether we won the last round because the adjudicator disappeared after they released the schools going into the semis. While waiting for the results, I ended up sitting next to Mr M and it was awkward and I kinda wanted to murder everyone who shifted from my right to my left and Reema I'm talking to you why did you ask him to shift in next to me he was two seats away isn't it enough Nicole and Shash already shifted away and you're having fun with Kash and blaaarrrghhh.

I'll cut this off before I go full on rambling. Good night bye bye I caught a cold so I need to sleep otherwise I'll end up passing out next to fluffy tomorrow morning or just be straight up concussed on my desk the whole day.

»And 'crash' went the potted plant...
Monday 2 July 2012

I thought today was gonna be a crap day since I had to wake up really early (for my standards anyway) and go to the National Library for project work. But it was actually really fun and surprisingly, we actually did work.

We were sitting on the floor next to a potted plant and then the security guard asked us to move since, I don't know man, apparently our butts will dirty the floor? So while getting up, Ayesha lost her balance and knocked over a potted plant and attracted the attention of just about everyone.
Besides that, nothing else eventful happened.

  Until PINK DOT THAT IS.

  Pink dot was just

Like seriously. At first I was getting a hell lot of stares on the train since I decided to go all out flamboyant with my outfit. Hey, why not? It's Pink Dot after all. I was late to meet Mick and Reema so in the end they went to the park without me. Long story short, I got lost and discovered that one has a better chance of a goldfish flying than Reema giving you good directions.

Anyway, I got there and attempted to strangle Reema while Mick gave me a once -over. Holy crap, Mick if you are reading this, you are the creepiest mofo I have ever met, bar none. Then she was just like "What in the heck are you wearing?" along with this:
And then we wandered around and stuff and captured some pretty hilarious signs. Well, Mick captured them , my camera is crap so I didn't. A lot of other stuff happened that I'm pretty sure no-one wants to read about so I'll skip, but before we lit up to form the dot, there were so many inspirational speeches from the ambassadors and Reema started crying. I was tearing up too, actually.

In those few moments, it felt like Someday would be possible. That maybe if we kept up this spirit of utter love and unity, maybe Singapore would be accepting of the gay community. It's a long way to go, but it is totally possible

After Pink Dot, we ended up hoboing along the Singapore river and had a pretty private talk, so I guess I won't write about that here. Maybe my private.
